Casey Klinich
This is my 12th year as a teacher at Cottage Lake Elementary. Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a para-educator for 6 years at Woodmoor Elementary. I have a combined total of 18 years in the field of special education.
I graduated with a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies: Society, Ethics, and Human Behavior from the University of Washington, Bothell and a MA in Special Education: Severe/Profound Disabilities from the University of Washington, Seattle.
In addition to teaching, I have been an ABA home tutor for 18 years, am a co-founder of the community organization My Village Northwest, and served on the comittee's panel for the Team Center of Washington.
In November of 2011, I acquired my National Boards Certification for Teaching!!! My content area is Exceptional Needs for ages 5-21. NBCT is a 1 year rigorous process for teachers who choose to pursue their NBCT.
When I am not immersed in teaching and volunteer work, I spend time rock climbing, running, and hiking. My wife of 17 years, Melanie, and I are high school sweethearts and have been together since we were freshman in high school.
