Developmental Preschool is for children three to five years of age who qualify for special education services in two or more areas. Our classrooms serve students with disabilities along with typically developing students from our community (Peer Model Program). Classes are taught by a special education teacher who designs the program and curriculum to meet the needs of the specific students in the class. The teacher is assisted by para-educators and specialists including:
- Speech-Language Pathologists
- Occupational and Physical Therapists
- Vision Specialist
This is a language-based program that offers educational experiences designed to help children develop the following skills:
- Motor Skills
The curriculum is designed to encourage kindergarten readiness skills while allowing children to explore their environment and materials at their own pace. Children are encouraged to try new things and make age appropriate decisions.
Students attend either a morning or afternoon session on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. There are no classes on Wednesday.
- Morning Session: 9:20 a.m. - 11:50 a.m.
- Afternoon Session: 1:20 p.m. - 3:50 p.m.
